Eberechi Eze has been labelled ‘an interesting signing’ by former Crystal Palace chairman, Simon Jordan who has also tipped the winger to give manager, Roy Hodgson a selection headache.

Eze completed his £20m move to the London-based Premier League club, Palace from SkyBet Championship side, Queens Park Rangers only a few weeks back.

The Eagles sealed a deal to bring the forward to Selhurst Park from fellow Londoners, QPR after the England-born Nigerian ace put pen to paper on a five-year contract.

Eze will now be plying his trade in the English Premier League alongside fellow Nigerian compatriots, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Odion Ighalo and Semi Ajayi.

The 22-year-old who was also a target for London rivals, West Ham United and newly promoted West Bromwich Albion is the club’s most expensive signing under Hodgson.

Ex-Palace chairman, Jordan believes that Hodgson is facing a selection headache ahead of his side’s opening EPL match of the new season against Southampton at Selhurst Park Stadium on Saturday.

Eze is battling Jordan Ayew who was crowned Palace Player of the 2019-2020 season, Andros Townsend and standout player, Wilfried Zaha for one of the spots in attack.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Jordan said: “Eze is an interesting signing because you wonder who is going to make way for this player coming in because Wilfried Zaha is obviously the standout player at Crystal Palace for some time and there are rumours about him moving on.”

Eze was hugely impressive for QPR during the 2019/20 season, finding the back of the net on 14 occasions while also providing eight assists in 48 appearances in all competitions.

On Tuesday, Eze was named in the Professional Footballers’ Association Championship Team of the Year for the 2019-2020 season.
