The Presidency on Sunday reacted to Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister’s attack on a reporter Charles Eyo.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu said there was no stupid question in Journalism.

According to Shehu, the basics in journalism indicate that there are only stupid answers and not questions.

In a tweet, Shehu wrote: “In journalism 101, you learn that there is no stupid question, only stupid answers. A former Nigerian minister just brought home this lesson.”

Recall that Fani-Kayode had verbally attacked Eyo for asking for the sponsors of his tour.

The former minister had claimed that Eyo was fronting for his political enemies who were out to embarrass him.

Fani-Kayode has, however, apologised for his comment.

Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) has directed journalists across the state not to attend a press conference being organised by controversial Nigerian politician and former minister, Femi Fani-Kayode as he begins his tour of the state.

The directive was given in retaliation of the PDP cheifain's verbal assault on Daily Trust journalist, Eyo Charles, in Calabar, Cross River state.

Mr Fani-Kayode, during the press briefing which was held in a private hotel and moderated by Governor Ben Ayade’s spokesperson, Christian Ita, told Mr Charles he was “stupid” for asking him who was “bankrolling” his tour, Premium Times reports.

“In line with the disposition of the national leadership of our great Union, the State Council has directed that no journalist should attend a media parley with Femi Fani-Kayode or any of his activity at any location in Akwa Ibom State,” the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, said in a statement, Friday morning.
