Twitter introduces new voice note feature, users react

Popular microblogging site, Twitter, on Wednesday introduced a voice note feature that permits users to tweet out audio recording in place of traditional text posts,

As a result, instead of always typing your tweets, Twitter has made it more flexible for users who can now not just type their posts but voice out their thoughts and ideas beyond the traditional 140 characters.

Users will have to option to share audio recordings of up to 140 seconds directly to their feed to accompany the text, photos, videos, and GIFs they already can share with their followers.

The new feature is designed to "add a more human touch" to using Twitter, the company said in a blog post.

"There's a lot that can be left unsaid or uninterpreted using text, so we hope voice Tweeting will create a more human experience for listeners and storytellers alike," Twitter staffers wrote in the blog post.

In reaction to the new feature, Tweeps have given their opinion about the voice note feature and it is trending as we write.

Another user, @Uncle_clique, who is obviously pained that the feature has not been extended beyond IOS devices said, "I actually love the fact that Twitter VN doesn't work on Samsung smartphone, only available on IOS.

"Honestly, I can't deal with the wack voices and fake accent. iPhone users can have it all, I don't want. I Love my Samsung!!!"

@totful_emanuels who is also an android user, however, threw in the towel. He said, "Forget say I dey use Android, this Twitter VN is not for me, which voice I wan take do VN."

@fiery_kiki, however, quizzed the need for the feature, she said, "I really don't see the point of adding VN to the TL, it defeats the whole purpose to Twitter."

This user, @adefhama, is obviously not a fan of updates; "Hom many times do i have to update my app before I get the Twitter VN feature."

@janeenbeanz tweeted, "VN twitter scares the shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit out of me," if only we know what this user means.

@BigBrot03862763 also tweeted - "This Twitter VN will not be able to favor internet fraudsters a.k.a yahoo yahoo boys."

@richy_sofwesh said, "Please this twitter VN should be used wisely, and not to be used to promote violence and sex. Let’s be guided, please !!"
