No financial records were burnt, save for a few- Agba

Treasury House, Abuja Treasury House, Abuja

As contradictory as this headline sounds, is how confusing the statement delivered by Minister of State for the Finance Ministry, Clement Agba gave over the burnt Accountant General Office.

Addressing members of the press on NTA, Agba tried to simply say not much documents were burnt.

He, however, noted that important financial documents were not lost.

Earlier today, the Accountant General's Office caught fire and MyNigeria.com reported that the Federal Fire Service and men of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) arrived at the scene soon enough to prevent the building from getting totally destroyed by the fire.

The fire reportedly began around 10 am on Wednesday, while the cause is still unknown.
