Coronavirus: Buhari commissions toll-free emergency number

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has commissioned 112 national emergency toll-free number.

The numbers which link to ambulances, fire service, police and others are available to anyone in need of emergency.

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Ibrahim Isah Pantami, who was present at the launching stated that the numbers would be available in all states.

He added that the toll-free numbers will play a great role in helping Nigerians in this period of COVID-19.

He said, “The emergency centre will link anyone who’s in danger and in an emergency condition to the Fire Service, Police and ambulance services.

“We will take this to other states in the country. In this period of Coronavirus, we are working to see how people can get immediate attention.
