This was revealed during a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Engr. Simbi Wabote, at the Board’s headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Responding to the request for local content in the gas deal, Wabote assured the Bonny Kingdom Committee that opportunities for Nigerians in the sector will be well catered for.
Wabote said that every Nigerian who has developed capacity will be considered for the LNG Train 7 project. He said the youths and people of Bonny Island that possess the required skills and capacity will equally benefit as the host community.
Wabote's words: "Our mandate is very clear, which is to provide opportunities for Nigerians in the oil and gas sector and build capacities that can be utilized in the oil and gas value chain."
