Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said that the Eko Bridge is no longer safe for commuters.

The Governor who said this while inspecting the bridge today explained that the bridge was old and needed to be worked upon thoroughly.

Promising to conduct a detailed investigation on the road-worthiness of the bridge, he urged commuters in the state to be patient and obey traffic officers as they direct people on road diversions to alternative routes while maintenance work is being carried out.

He lamented that the Lagos bridges were abysmally abused and assured the citizens that the State’s Ministry of Transportation will ensure that the traffic rules and principles are followed.
