Bikes should be taken off the highway- accident victim speaks on bike ban

A victim of a bike crash, Peter Okoyina has demanded that bikes be taken off Lagos roads as they are unsafe.

He made this call in a video interview where he narrated his own ordeal to the Lagos State Government.

The video was titled: "The menace of okada as disclosed by Victims. "

Okoyina who was interviewed on a sickbed said he and another passenger boarded a bike from Okoko to Agbara. On getting to Agbara, a vehicle hit them from behind and he found himself on the floor where he was carrying a left foot in his hand.

Okoyina said he managed to call his relatives as no seemed to want to help him.

Passing a word of advice to residents, he warned them to stop taking bikes. He explained that bikes are not made for the highway.

"No matter how much in a hurry you are, the essence is you reaching. It is better we stick to using vehicles. Bikes should be taken off the highway. The bike man might not be at fault, any vehicle can knock it off. Bikes should be taken off the highways," he admonished Lagosians.
