Leah Sharibu's dad reacts to news of daughter giving birth in captivity, dismisses reports

Leah Sharibu's father, Nathan has refused to believe reports that his daughter, Leah was delivered of a baby boy in captivity.

Sahara Reporters alleged that the schoolgirl gave birth to a baby boy after being forced to marry a top Boko Haram commander, according to a source close to the terrorist group.

The source said Leah, who refused to renounce her Christian faith, was forced to accept Islam before being married to a top commander of the terror group.

Her father, reacting to the news dismissed the report as untrue.

“I have not heard that and I don’t want to hear any such news,” he said.

Leah was among dozens of girls seized from a school in Yobe State by Boko Haram fighters two years ago. She refused to deny her faith and was not released when her counterparts came home. She was fourteen at the time of her capture.

Recent reports indicate that the teenage girl was tortured and raped to accept Islam.
