Grandville Medical and Laser, a cosmetic surgery hospital in Nigeria, has reacted to an allegation that they are covering up the death of a lady who died in their care.

The allegation came from an Instagram blogger who shared pictures of the lady with claims that she died while undergoing cosmetic surgery at the Abuja branch of Grandville Medical and Laser.

The blogger wrote:

"What should I investigate here??? when will our ladies learn to love their bodies,when???? and you,Dr Ayo,Dr ISONU,Doctor killer,God is watching you,but these girls going about with insecurities about their God given body needs to be blamed too,Doctor don open death roaster this year again,last year death rate was massive too,LOVE YOUR BODY,YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY YOU ARE.Rip to the dead".

Reacting to the allegation, the hospital took to social media:

"Our attention has been brought to the malicious and defamatory story published by a notorious Instagram blogger concerning the death of a one Mildred who was alleged to have done a procedure in our center in Abuja. Here is to formally put a lie to this story and notify the general public that 1. There is no record of anyone bearing such name in any of our database. 2. That our M.D has not been to Abuja this year. 3. That in no time has anyone bearing the face on the photo being peddled around ever visited any of our hospital branches. 4.It is the responsibility of all everyone to put pressure on the publishers of this malicious story to provide proof that this patient had surgery in our facility or died from the complications of this surgery. 5.We will not be blackmailed into parting with any amount of money to faceless people who disguise as bloggers to perpetrate fraud. 6.We will not relent in providing safe medical and surgical services to our clients and keep putting Nigeria on the map".
