Nigeria and six other countries are likely to be included in a travel ban list soon to be signed by US President, Donald Trump.

The list which is likely to change will see Belarus, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania face visa bans to some degrees if the executive order is signed.

Trump who spoke to Wall Street Journal about the plan was, however, not specific on the countries to be included in the list.

A senior official in the Trump administration who commented on the travel ban list stated that countries to be included are those who failed to comply with the US on security requirements, counter-terrorism measures, information sharing and biometrics.

Affected by the current ban are citizens of Iran, Somalia, North Korea, Libya, Syria and Yemen, as well as some Venezuelan officials. These are prevented form obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visa.
