Atiku reacts to Boko Haram execution of Adamawa CAN chairman

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the death of Lawan Andimi, the chairman of the Adamawa chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.

Taking to Twitter, Atiku expressed sadness as he revealed the need for a recalibration of the country's security architecture.

He wrote: "This development saddens me. There's a compelling need to recalibrate our security architecture. I sympathise with the family of Pastor Lawan Andimi and the entire body of CAN in Nigeria. May the soul of the deceased Rest In Peace".



Lawani's death comes after he pleaded with the authorities and Ahmadu Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, via a video to rescue him.

He also asked his family members to pray for his release.

“I have never being discouraged because all condition that one finds himself is in the hand of God. God who makes them to take care of me and to leave my life will still work and he will touch them.

“I’m appealing to my colleagues, referends particularly my President, and my Governor for my release."
