Air France suspends flight to Iran and Iraqi airspace

Air France has announced the suspension of flights to the Iran and Iraqi airspace.

This is coming amidst tensions between Iran and USA which saw missiles from Iran launched against Iraqi bases housing US troops.

The attack came as retaliation for the US airstrike that killed General Qassim Soleimani of Iran.

An Air France spokesman said:

“As a precautionary measure and following news of airstrikes underway, Air France has decided to suspend until further notice all flights through Iranian and Iraqi airspace".

MyNigeria reported that preliminary assessment of the attack on the Iraqi bases shows that no US casualty was recorded.
