Liverpool dumps New Balance, signs new deal with Nike

Liverpool signs new Nike deal Liverpool signs new Nike deal

Liverpool has crowned their World Club Cup triumph with a new deal with Nike thereby ending ties with present kit sponsor, New Balance, after 5 years.

The European Champions announced on Tuesday that Nike will be its official kit supplier from the 2020/21 season on a multi-year deal.

According to LiverpoolEcho, the Reds previously won a legal battle with New Balance last year after the sportswear company argued Liverpool had broken the terms of their partnership by negotiating a five-year deal with Nike.

The Reds welcomed Nike into the 'Liverpool family' in a statement this morning, with managing director Billy Hogan adding that they anticipate the partnership will be 'incredible' as they seek to further expand their off-the-field success.

Bert Hoyt, VP, GM Nike EMEA, said: “Liverpool Football Club has such a proud heritage and strong identity.

"The partnership with Liverpool FC underscores our leadership in global football and with the club’s passionate worldwide fanbase and strong legacy of success, they have a very bright future ahead.

“We look forward to partnering with them to serve players and supporters with Nike innovation and design.”
