Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has confirmed that midfielder, Paul Pogba wants to remain at the club despite reports linking the France international with a move away from Old Trafford to Real Madrid.
Solskjaer stated this following Man United’s 5-4 victory over AC Milan on penalties after the game ended in a 2-2 draw at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday.
Pogba missed Man United’s final pre-season friendly against AC Milan due to a back injury, although reports suggested he had failed to report for the trip to South Wales as he tries to force a move away from the Red Devils.
When asked if Pogba wants to still play for Man United and remain at Old Trafford, Solskjaer was quoted by Manchester Evening News as saying after the match: “Yeah, no doubts at all.
“No, I wasn’t expecting him. I spoke to him after training and he didn’t feel right. And (press officer) Karen [Shotbolt] was busy talking to the press doing different things! So she takes the blame!
“He (Pogba)’ll probably be back early on next week training, yeah. It’s not an injury, it’s just some pain. He’s not injured but I wasn’t going to risk anything this weekend. He should be okay for Chelsea.”
