Your removal was underserved- OBJ to Sanusi

Sanusi Sanusi

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has reacted to the removal of the Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi by the Kano State Government.

In a heartfelt letter by the elder statesman to the former traditional ruler, Obasanjo had kind words to say to the deposed monarch.

He described the news as sad because he was underserved. Nonetheless, the former PDP chieftain chose to see the silver lining in the monarch's removal and exile. He wished him good tidings in his future endeavour.

"It is sad because it was underserved. It is good because you have paid the price. My prayer is that God should give you the fortitude and the courage to continue the path that you have chosen for yourself in the best interest of our country and humanity. Please accept, Your Roal Highness, the assurance of my highest consideration," the letter read in part.

Earlier today, Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje described former Emir of Kano State, Muhammad Sanusi II as disrespectful.

This was contained in a press statement approving the sacking of the ex-traditional ruler. The statement was signed by the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji.

The statement said that Sanusi disrespected the office of the State Governor and other lawful authorities. He was accused of refusing to attend official meetings organised by the Government. All of which was termed insubordination according to the letter.
