You started it, says Reno Omokri as Nigerians drag Peter Obi's alleged gay son

Reno Omokri has stated that former presidential candidate Peter Obi should hold himself accountable for making children of politicians fair game in dirty politics.

This was after social media went wild on seeing photos of Obi's son, Oseloka, with a gay man who called him his angel.

Reacting, Omokri condemned the circulation of the photos and urged those responsible to reconsider and delete them.

He shared on Facebook, "First of all, I unequivocally condemn the leak of compromising photos of the son of the immediate past Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi. It is wrong and should not be tolerated in a decent society. I call on all those who published the photos to delete them immediately. I further enjoin the National Information Technology Development Agency to use its good offices to scrub those images from the Internet."

Omokri, however, recalled that Obi started the game of dragging the children of politicians into dirty politics when he falsely accused President Bola Tinubu's son, Seyi Tinubu, of abduction.

"...Nigerians may want to cast their minds back to Sunday, May 4, 2025, when Peter Obi brutally criticised Seyi Tinubu, and accused him, FALSELY, of abducting and brutalising, then attempting to kill one Atiku Abubakar Isah, a factional President of the National Association of Nigerian Students.

"The allegation spread by Peter Obi was not just false, it was reckless, as Mr. Obi did not contact the Nigerian Police or any other security agency to verify his false accusations against Mr. Seyi Tinubu before rushing to social media.
In his rush to damage Seyi Tinubu and his father, Peter failed the test recently propounded by President Tinubu: Verify Before You Amplify!

"What is more, the same Atiku Abubakar Isah, four days later, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, apologised to Mr. Seyi Tinubu and admitted that his allegations were false and politically motivated.

"Yet, Mr. Peter Obi, to date, never apologised for spreading those lies and smears against the younger Tinubu or withdrew his claims.

"This is the same Seyi Tinubu who still respected Peter Obi when they met at Pope Francis's funeral in May.
And so while I never joined in circulating the recent photos of Mr. Peter Oseloka Obi, which sent tongues wagging, it will be extremely hypocritical for Peter Obi to now cry foul when others are using details about his own son's personal life and choices against him, when it was him, Peter Obi, who opened the gate and first did it against Ssyi Tinubu.
Mr. Peter Oseloka Obi is entitled to his private life, and his sexuality is nobody's business. Prior to today, I have never mentioned his name or shared his photos. I also have children.

"If Peter Obi's son reads this, I apologise to him on behalf of those unruly Nigerians who have spread his photos and invaded his privacy. My counsel to Mr. Oseloka Obi is that he should advise his father, because those who invaded his privacy and circulated the images of him, without caring about his emotional health, learnt their wickedness from his father.
Obidients who are now outraged at those who circulated Oseloka's photos, if they want to be objective, should also be ashamed of their leader, Peter Obi.

"Peter and his Obidients should note that Oseloka Obi is not the only one with feelings. Seyi Tinubu also has feelings and gets hurt when people like Oseloka's father, Peter Obi, spread malicious lies against him. If Oseloka is looking for a culprit, he should face his own father."
