You’ll destroy Buhari's govt with your mouth – Omokri slams Lai Mohammed

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has accused the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, of destroying President Muhammadu Buhari's government.

The author and lawyer took to his social media to call out Lai Mohammed after he made a remark on the arrest and prosecution of prominent church clerics like Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Williams Kumuyi for defying FG's Twitter ban.

The minister whiles speaking to BBC Focus on whether the pastors disobeying the Twitter regulation would be prosecuted, commented that the power to prosecute rests in the hands of the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

Prior to this, Pastor Adeboye referenced Article 19 of the United Nations, UN, Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) as his justification for defying the Twitter regulation.

Pastor Adeboye noted that the church is domiciled in over 70 countries of the world, hence the need to continue tweeting.

The minister reacting to the cleric's statement said that he and other Nigerians who defy the regulations will be prosecuted.

Lai's comment didn't go down well with Omokri as in response noted that Lai Mohammed will destroy the Buhari government with his mouth more than Buhari’s enemies.

“He has succeeded in alienating Nigerians from their government. He is meant to be an Image-maker, but has ended up as a damage-maker,” part of the tweet read.
