You don't need Trump; do this if you want Biafra - Mahdi Shehu tells Igbos

Mahdi Shehu has said that Igbos don't need U.S President Donald Trump to actualise the Biafra Republic that they are agitating for.

According to him, Igbos need to make a collective decision, such that their leaders currently in government will resign from their positions. This and others, he said, will lead to a referendum needed for them to declare Biafra's secession from Nigeria.

He said, "Have a uniform voice, focus and mission because as at now there are JUDASIS among and within them who are sabotaging their agitations.

"All Igbos that are currently serving as ministers and occupying federal political appointments should resign immediately. Doing this will send shivers down the federal spine, and all local and global attention will be on them.

"All governors from the Southeast should decamp to one party, which may be either the original Igbo party, APGA, or the most recent one, LP.

"All states in the Southeast shall express openly their resolve not to participate in any future all future elections.

"All states from the Southeast should collectively visit the United Nations, Ecowas and the African Union, submit their notices and request for intention to conduct a referendum of separation from Nigeria and invite them as witnesses and observers.

"If the referendum is in favour of separation, they can go ahead and declare Biafra and demand their share of the country's assets and liabilities.

"Next will be to make arrangements on how to resettle all Biafrans that will be migrating back to Biafra to build the new country, since they would lose their citizenship of the other part of Nigeria.

"At that point, no sensible/insensible or senile person can contemplate waging war against them.

"Doing that may pave the way for the cowardly and docile North to copy your style and have their own country and save themselves from the impending collapse."
