Journalist David Hundeyin has stated that former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, cannot orchestrate the removal of President Bola Tinubu the same way he and others did to former President Goodluck Jonathan (GEJ).
Hundeyin said this amid El-Rufai dumping the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
El-Rufai has also been antagonizing the Tinubu administration by calling for a coalition, a similar type that led to Jonathan's electoral loss in 2015.
However, Hundeyin reminded the former governor that Jonathan was successfully removed by the 2015 coalition because of US backing.
He pointed out that the same US is backing Tinubu today.
He shared on X, "You've started with the Facebook and Twitter articles because you think these things were effective the last time you did them, but let me set the record straight: all this stuff you did while fighting against Goodluck Jonathan between 2011 and 2015 only appeared to be successful because the US government was on your side at the time. It was the US government that defeated Goodluck Jonathan, not you.
"You were not even a factor at all.
"So reprising the same tactics against someone who has backing from your former friends is a waste of your time and political energies. It's not going to work. Unlike Goodluck Jonathan, the person you're fighting now isn't a statesman, doesn't care about Nigeria at all, and is not afraid to burn the country down so he can be in power to rule over the ashes. You weren't a genius when you were accusing Goodluck Jonathan of training snipers in Israel to kill you. You were just a useful idiot in the actual game being played.
"You were never a protagonist."
