The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has slammed those criticising the campaign photos shared by the party's candidate in the Anambra governorship election, Comrade Chioma Ifemeludike.
Ifemeludike's campaign photos, which show her looking curvy, especially the one flaunting her backside, generated reactions on social media.
She captioned the photos: "I am the flag bearer of the AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS (AAC) and I’m proud to say that I’m the best candidate on the November 8, Anambra Gubernatorial election. The light house is about to be lit."
Reacting, her critics wondered if the photos were for a beauty pageant or for political office.
One Sir David Onyemaizu on X said, "Is your yansh the manifesto & plans you have for Anambra State?"
@IamTheGoldenGuy said, "Na Gubernatorial election. Nobi Judinatorial election. You're taking your campaign pictures and what you're projecting is your nyansh. Na nyansh we go dey chop when you start to dey chop government money!"
@DRealist009 said, "How do we expect the older generation to take us seriously or relinquish power if we take sensitive matters like a gubernatorial election with so much triviality? This is just disgraceful."
@TheTestame45349 said, "Na wa oo. I was expecting so much from anyone flying under AAC. Does she know the difference between campaign photos and beauty pageants? Her pictures say alot about her intentions. This is my problem with women of this generation, they think with their ass and not their head."
Reacting, Sowore expressed displeasure at the criticism. According to him, those criticising the female politician are not as intelligent as she is.
He wrote on X, "It is profoundly disappointing that chauvinists are disparaging the @AACparty's gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, Chioma Grace Ifemeludike @ife_dike is an exemplary young woman whose groundbreaking ideas and remarkable intelligence they cannot equal, and are instead directing their criticisms at her appearance rather than engaging with the content of her character and intellectual capabilities. Vote Chioma for Governor of Anambra State!"
