Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has said the newly appointed Security Chiefs cannot do better than their predecessors in the fight against insurgency.

Speaking in a nine minutes audio, the faction leader stated that he is aware of the recent change in security chiefs and is inviting them to Islam.

In the audio, he mentioned the names and roles of all the replacements of the security chiefs urging them to repent from their sins.

He warned the chiefs that none of their plans would destroy his terror gang.

“Leo Irabor, the head of the military, you should have sympathy for yourself, repent and convert to Islam. There is nothing you can do,” Shekau said.

He advised Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, the Chief of Army Staff not to ''deceive'' himself because of his Muslim background.

“Even if you are Muslim but you conduct polytheistic practices, you are no longer a Muslim,” Shekau said.

According to a source familiar with the activities of Boko Haram who informed HumAngle, members of the group are likely to conduct major operations to send a message to the new service chiefs that they are ready to fight.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, replaced the former Service chiefs.

Major-General Leo Irabor was appointed the Chief of Defence Staff and head of the military while Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru was appointed the new Chief of Army Staff.

Rear Admiral A.Z. Gambo became the Chief of Naval Staff, and Air-Vice Marshal I.O. Amao is the new Chief of Air Staff.
