Yoruba youths are planning to take their campaign against the Indigenous Bill to the next level by printing flyers to be distributed across the Southwest region and Abuja.

The Indigenous Bill is sponsored by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and it aims to grant indigenous rights to any Nigerian born in an area of the country, who has stayed there for 10 years or is married to someone from the area.

This means that there will be an end to State of Origin in the Constitution, which ensures that Nigerians remain connected to their roots, culture and villages.

However, Yoruba people have been kicking against the bill, saying it is an expansionist agenda that will be used to wipe out minorities from their ancestral lands.

They also claim the bill is mainly targeted at Yorubaland by those who envy its prosperity and peacefulness and would want it for themselves by using the legislature.

To stop the bill, youths are creating awareness, which involves distributing flyers to be pasted on buses.

One Bayo Bilisi on X shared, "Target: Our Flyers on 500 buses. Our Sticker on 1,000 buses. 1,000 flyers across Yoruba land and Abuja...

"Any form of Assistance is welcome. Please share to FB and Tiktok. We will not lose our indigenous rights to ridiculous bills being sponsored for frivolous acts. Total received: 220k
