Wrestlers will deliver at the Olympics – Igali

Daniel Igali, Chairman Caretaker Committee of Nigeria Wrestling Federation has expressed optimism at Nigeria's chances in the upcoming Olympics games in Tokyo.

He made this known to the press on Sunday, July 11 in Lagos as the team prepares for the games.

The Olympics games are officially slated to begin on Friday, July 23 while the Wrestling event will hold between the 1st to 8th of August.

A former Olympian, Igali said the time is ripe for Nigeria to claim their place among the committee of winners.

“The wrestlers are ready and you know the Wrestling event will hold between 1st to 8th of August, but the athletes are saying they want the competition to start next week.”

“We have been to the Olympics several times now, but we haven’t been able to win a medal, but with the current crop of wrestlers, I think the time is right for us to win a meal at the Olympics,” he said.
