CAF President Patrice Motsepe has stated that a World Cup without the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon is not complete.

The Super Eagles last qualified for the Mundial in 2018 under the auspices of Gernot Rohr.

The three-time African champions, who have made six appearances at the World Cup, have missed out on the last two editions in Qatar and in USA, Canada and Mexico.

Cameroon, on the other hand, also failed to secure qualification for the just-ended global showpiece after finishing behind Cape Verde in the qualifiers and losing to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the CAF semifinal playoffs.

Reflecting on Nigeria and Cameroon's failed campaigns, Motsepe stated that both countries have played a huge role in shaping African football's reputation on the global stage.

Motsepe expressed his desire to ensure that the continent gets good representation on the world stage going forward.

"I am happy for Nigeria and Cameroon. Nigeria did not make the World Cup, and I keep telling people that a World Cup for me without Nigeria, Cameroon, and many others is incomplete because Nigerians and Cameroonians have all made us proud," Motsepe said.
