Wolverhampton Wanderers have rejected a €15m offer from Besiktas for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Turkish club turned to the Nigerian forward after Tammy Abraham cut his loan spell short to join Aston Villa, leaving Besiktas short in attack.
According to Turkish publication Fanatik, the 11-time Turkish champions are in talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers over a deal for Arokodare, offering €15m.
However, Wolves have declined the offer, seeking at least double the amount submitted by the Turkish side.
The Premier League club splashed €26m to secure Arokodare’s services from KRC Genk last summer and are not prepared to take losses this soon.
Additionally, Jorge Strand-Larsen recently completed a €50m move to Crystal Palace, meaning Arokodare could finally get more playing time under his belt.
Wolves are unlikely to lose another attacker in their fight for Premier League survival, although their prospects of avoiding relegation remain slim.
Besiktas coach Sergen Yalcin has only El-Bilal Toure left in the striker position following Abraham’s departure.
The 53-year-old coach prefers to field the Malian star on the left wing and wants a clear number nine transfer from the management.
Whether the Super Eagles striker is keen on the move is currently unknown, but playing for a top-flight Turkish team might be more appealing than Championship football ahead of next season.
Arokodare, 24, joined Wolves in August but has struggled for regular playing time at the Molineux.
