Wizkid wins the 'Best African Music Act' and 'Best International Act' at the MOBO 2021 awards

Wizkid has been rated the first African artiste to win the MOBO two prestigious awards in one night.

Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun professionally known as Wizkid has become the first African artiste to win two awards in the MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) Awards.

He won Best International Act after given Kanye West, Lil Nas X, Polo G, Megan, Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Drake, Rema, and others a back attack who were nominated in the same category with him.

Also, he won Best African Music Act after defeating King Promise, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Ckay, and many others who were also nominated in the same category.

The MOBO Awards is an annual British awards ceremony that celebrates achievements in “music of black origin“. The show honors the best of the best in Hip-Hop, Grime, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, and African music.

This year’s edition was held at Coventry’s CBS Arena on Sunday, December 5th, 2021.

Meanwhile, the multiple awards-winning singer made history a few days ago with his 3- day Made In Lagos Deluxe Edition concert at 02 Arena, London.
