'Wizkid is a musical phenomenon that needs to be studied in school' - Daddy Freeze

Popular media personality Daddy Freeze has stirred fresh conversations online after delivering a strong take on the ongoing clash between Wizkid and Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti.

In a post shared on social media, Daddy Freeze described Wizkid as a “musical phenomenon that needs to be studied in school,” hailing the Grammy-winning star as a pure genius and a true symbol of Afro music culture.

According to him, Wizkid’s influence goes beyond charts and awards, noting that the singer has played a major role in taking African music to the global stage.

He stressed that Wizkid’s sound, consistency and international collaborations have reshaped how the world sees Afrobeats.

Daddy Freeze also addressed Seun Kuti directly, reminding him that while he may be Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s biological son, the legendary musician belongs to everyone.

“Seun, you might be the biological son of Fela, but everyone owns him,” he said.

The media personality explained that Fela’s legacy is no longer limited to his family but has become a collective heritage for Africans and music lovers worldwide.

He emphasized that Fela’s activism, music, and impact transcended bloodlines and now belong to history and culture.
