The former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said he has no regret for his political actions while he was in office.

Wike said this in an interview with BBC Pidgin, while reflecting on the tenure as governor in the oil rich state.

According to Wike, there was no electoral fraud in the 2023 presidential election.

He said: "There was no electoral fraud in the presidential election.

"The matter is at the tribunal; it should be left to the tribunal to unearth who perpetrated electoral fraud and who did not."

Prior to this, there were reports that claim the immediate past governor of Rivers state manipulated the results to favour the All Progressives Congress.
Reports also indicated that Peter Obi, the presidential candiate of the Labour Party won the election in Rivers state by a wide margin.

The BBC reported:

"We found an increase of just over 106,000 in Mr Tinubu's vote in the official declaration when compared with our polling station tally - almost doubling his total in the state.

"In contrast, Mr Obi's vote had fallen by over 50,000."
