Wike reveals next plan if Tribunal overturns Tinubu's victory

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike is confident that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal will not overturn INEC's declaration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as winner of the February 25 polls.

President Tinubu polled 8,794,726 (36.61%) votes to beat his closest rival Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) in an election the two opposition parties believe it was marred by voting irregularities.

Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi have since petitioned the Tribunal for redress.

In an exclusive interview on Channels TV's Politics Today show on Wednesday night, Wike expressed his gratitude to the President for the ministerial appointment.

Speaking on his next line of action should the Tribunal overturn the results of the 2023 presidential election, the PDP Chieftain said:

“I have never failed. I strongly believe that the God I serve is not a sleeping God.

“I believe the God that made me go through all these processes will not just abandon us like that.”

In a latest development, David Bwala, a former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council in the 2023 polls has noted that the PDP will expel Wike at the appropriate time.
