Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has dismissed claims that he plans to deal with Igbo residents in Abuja.

According to him, these allegations are the handiwork of some government officials conspiring with land grabbers to work against the government on land allocation.

He noted that some people posing to be investors were land grabbers, narrating how they purchased hectares of land and began reselling to the residents of Abuja; adding that they connived with the legal and land secretariat of the FCT.

The Minister said this during his response to Chief Nicholas Ukachukwu, the chairman and chief executive officer of the SNECOU Group Limited who alleged that he was planning to deal with Igbo people.

Recall that Ukachukwu claimed that Wike ordered the demolition of the buildings on 214 hectares of land in the Asokoro area of the FCT in Abuja.

He further accused Wike of ordering the demolition without a valid court order despite pending two court orders from two different courts that restrained the minister and the FCT administration from tampering with the properties.

Wike, on his part, said that there were many of such cases on his table, and this is as a result of corrupt civil servants aiding and abetting the property investors.

The FCT minister noted that the land grabbers are defrauding the government under false pretence as they suggest the lands are for investments but rather they resell to the residents.
