TV show anchor Reuben Abati has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as the Omonile of the FCT who brought embarrassment to President Bola Tinubu.

Abati said this following a confrontation between Wike and a naval officer over a land in dispute in Abuja this week.

MyNigeria reported that Wike held a press briefing on Thursday concerning the issue, during which he dismissed claims that he disrespected the military by calling the officer a fool.

He said, "Those who are writing junk, go and find out what really happened. Some people will say I said the boy is a fool. What I meant was this: You cannot be carrying out an illegal order. That's what I meant. I didn't say military, you are a fool. I couldn't have said that. I know the role of the military, the role they have played in this country, what they have passed through in the hands of insurgents and terrorists.

"I've given my support to security. As I came as FCT Minister, go and see their security... go and see what I provided for them to fight and dp their work. Sp, if I know that, why would I say... It's not true. But you, what you're doing, you are not doing what you are not doing what you're taught as an officer."

Reacting, Abati, during his show on Arise TV, urged President Tinubu to caution the minister, just as he dismissed his claims of being someone who respects the rule of law.

Abati said, Yesterday, I spoke of the Omonile of the Federal Capital Territory, who thoroughly embarrassed the President of Nigeria while pretending to be exercising delegated authority.

"This morning, I've also said he comes across as APC's political bouncer in the Peoples Democratic Party, trying to impose himself on that party to serve the purpose of a fifth columnist."

On Wike's claims of respecting the rule of law, he said, "I don't think that is true. When he was governor in Rivers State, did he respect the rule of law?"
