Why don't you struggle to build your own name? - Dr. Abati fires Seyi Tinubu after presidential jet saga

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, has come under fire on social media after he was spotted on Sunday, October 8th, reportedly using the presidential jet to travel to Kano, to watch the finals of this year’s edition of the Kano International Polo Tournament.

During an analysis on Arise television, Dr Reuben Abati, co-host of the Morning show, expressed his disappointment at the way, public assets are abused.

"This is clearly an abuse of presidential power, to the best of my knowledge, Seyi Tinubu is not an official of State, former head of state, many are even likely to ask who the hell is he? because he is a president's son? even if you're a child of privilege.

"What concerns us is the abuse of presidential powers. The son of the president is not qualified in anyway to use the presidential jet or any of the jets in that fleet.

This is not the first time he would use this jet to go on a fluoric on his own. It is not as if he was running an errand for his father because a president has powers. But he is going to watch a polo match. What is that?"

He also raises alarm over the level of reception Seyi Tinubu received upon arrival in Kano state.

"What makes it scandalous was that we were told that he was received as if he was a state official by government officials and he was given heavy security, wasting tax payers money to protect the tax payers son."

This incident caused a stir among Nigerians who questioned why public assets are being abused on several regimes.
