An interesting moment between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his former Minister of Solid Minerals, Oby Ezekwesili, has generated a buzz on social media.

In the video that has now gone viral, Obasanjo gently knocked the 61-year-old after she told him to say "thank you" at his 88th birthday dinner held on Sunday, March 2 2025, at The Delborough Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Ezekwesili was seen publicly telling Obasanjo to say “Thank you very much” to people.

The video showed the former president's reluctance to utter the words until she asked him to take the microphone to thank the people.

Obasanjo took the microphone and thanked the guests at the event.

Notable figures at the event included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Razaq Akanni Okoya, the founder of Eleganza Group, and his wife, Shade; former Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha; E-Money; Obi Cubana; Cubana Chief Priest; ex-President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma; his longtime political associate, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and his wife, Patience; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and his wife, Toyin Saraki, among others.
