Brazilian youngster Estevao Willian has opened up on why he chose Chelsea over Manchester United.

The Blues secured the signature of the teenager from Brazilian club Palmeiras in 2024.

He officially joined the club last summer after the FIFA Club World Cup.

Before his move to Stamford Bridge, the 18-year-old was linked with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.

In an interview with The Sun, Estevao disclosed that he was convinced by Chelsea’s project, which influenced his decision to join the London club.

“My family went to other clubs, but what caught my attention was Chelsea.

“The project at Chelsea was different because it’s a team that — how can I say — gives you more opportunities to be in the game.

“I thought Chelsea would be perfect for me because it would give me more minutes and allow me to be among the best players in the world.”
