Why Atiku, Obi are silent after Dangote truck crushed Phyna's sister - Daniel Regha

Social media influencer Daniel Regha has condemned the silence from former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi over the accident involving a Dangote truck and the sister of BBNaija winner, Phyna.

MyNiegria reported that Phyna's sister, Ruth Otabor, was crushed by the truck just six days after she graduated from a higher institution in Edo. She was rushed to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State, where one of her legs was amputated, with reports indicating that the other leg may suffer the same fate.

While social media users have sympathised with the victim and condemned the recklessness of the drivers of trucks belonging to Dangote Group, owned by billionaire Aliko Dangote, Regha believes the silence of prominent Nigerians concerning the issue is worrying.

He recalled how Atiku and Obi recently issued statements in defence of alleged victims, lamenting that they can't come out to defend Phyna's sister in the same manner, due to perceived reasons.

He shared on X, "Dangote's trailer crisis hasn't been addressed by these presidential candidates; Peter Obi, Atiku, and others. Notice the radio silence online, but same people were quick to write epistles concerning Raye's NYSC issue and the KWAM dramas. Atiku is busy talking about Premier League. If this were to affect an elite, support will be pouring in from left, right, and centre; however, everyone wants to tread carefully all of a sudden. Obi visited the LP voter who was assaulted during the last elections, yet can't condemn the recklessness of Dangote's drivers despite a young lady fighting for her life. Wonderful."
