Who is in charge in this country? – Nigerians quizzes as fuel price sold at N870 per litre

The increase in fuel price across the country has attracted a lot of criticism towards the ruling government led by President Bola Tinubu.

Although there have been reports of a downward review in fuel price, a man in Imo state claims to have purchased fuel from a filling station at N870 per litre.

The man identified as Anukanti Vigilius Chukwuka took to Facebook to lament after buying fuel at such a high price despite claims of a reduction.

Vigilius wrote:

"₦870 a litre at St Global Pillar Energy Orlu road Owerri. It looks as if no one is in charge in this country. No regulations from any unit."

His complaint sparked a mixed reaction on social media.

Gozie Uchechukwu Iwueke said: "The situation is real and is affecting everybody and the authorities aren't doing anything atleast to let people know the reason for the hike everyday..."

Charles Obiefuna said: "In Nigeria it’s every man for himself- Don't forget that."

Engr Kenneth Uba said: "The Department of Petroleum Resources is far gone, no regulations anymore."

Kelechi Nzereogu said: "I like it,

"You know why, both APC, PDP and LP members are suffering from it, even the CJN’s relatives and their extended families and friends are feeling it.

"Yes, I know the CJN and INEC chairman will not feel this pain directly,

"For our leaders they should know that we all have less than 90years to on earth. Subtract your age from 90 and know you have less than that.

"Then you must give an account to God of how you used your offices to serve him."

Irobi Darlington said: "I buy with tears, but I just have to buy. There is no light and the children will always call you up for the generator when it’s 7:30pm. "We are in a terrible situation bro."

Ugwulebo Emma said: "God help us."

Stephen Okolie said: "The question is: What is their landing cost? "The rot is from the depot."
