The factional national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Lamidi Apapa, on Wednesday, May 17, confronted the Director General of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign council, Akin Osuntokun, at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja.

The fight was over seats meant for litigants at the Presidential Election Petition Court.

In the video making rounds, Lamidi Apapa questioned Osuntokun why he would occupy seats meant for him and his people, however, a voice in the background said the seat was not reserved for anybody.

A lawyer was also heard challenging Apapa and his entourage to go to court and result their issues and not at the Election Petition hearing.

Osuntokun was on his part, seated calmly and looking at his phone without uttering a word.

The factions in the ongoing Labour Party (LP) leadership crisis continue to battle following the judgement by Justice Hamza Muazu of a Federal Capital Territory High Court ordering the party’s Chairman, Julius Abure and other national executives of the party to stop parading themselves as national officers of the party created the crisis currently engulfing the party.

After the pronouncement by the judge, Lamidi Apapa assumed the role as the leader of the party and has been alleged to have signed letters to court asking for the election petition to be withdrawn.
