Factional leader of the Labour Party, Apapa has attracted questions from Nigerians on his whereabout.

Recall that Lamidi Apapa was in the news following his move to emerge as the national chairman of the Labour Party.

However, during one of his visits to the Election Petition Tribunal to witness the court proceedings of the Party and Peter Obi, he was allegedly attacked by unknown persons.

This occurred when arrived at court and confronted Director General of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign council, Akin Osuntokun, at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja.

Mr Osuntokun and other party officials were seated in the gallery in the courtroom, when Mr Apapa and his colleagues accosted the former, demanding that they vacate the seat as he claimed to be the legitimate leader of Labour Party.

This comes after the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja had restrained Mr Abure from parading himself as the national chairman of the party.

Moment the court proceeding ended, some people who were not in support of his faction booed him on his way out of the court. He was immediately whisked away by security operatives.

Reacting to the ambush, Apapa accused Peter Obi and Julius Abure of masterminding the attack on him.

This incident brought about mixed reactions. Some alleged he was paid by the ruling party to disrupt the Labour Party and the election cases at court, claims he denied.

Julius Abure was later restored as the national chairman of the Labour Party.
