What is NLC chairman doing in Dubai with APC delegates? - Nigerians ask as 'beaten' Ajaero spotted in COP28

The National Labour Congress President, Joe Ajaero has caused a stir as photos of him attending the Climate Change Conference COP28 in Dubai as a Nigerian delegate goes viral.

This comes following reports that he was beaten to pulp by suspected thugs after he was arrested by heavily armed police officers at the Imo Council Secretariate.

It was gathered that the incident occurred ahead of a planned workers’ protest in the State from the Imo State headquarters of NLC, New Owerri.

Reports stated that Ajaero was later taken to the hospital for treatment after his release from detention.

However, the police command in Imo state denied arresting the NLC president and beating him and that Ajaero was taken into custody to prevent him from been lynched by a mob.

The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, on November 15, two weeks after the incident occurred announced that the suspects involved in the assault of the NLC President, Ajaero have been arrested.

Barely a month after Ajaero was beaten ahead of a planned demonstration, he was spotted attending the COP28 in Dubai as a delegate.

This has since raised concerns among Nigeria as they wonder how the NLC President who was allegedly assaulted by the police ends up as an All Progressives Congress delegate in Dubai.
