With the presidential candidates of the major political parties known ahead of the general elections in 2023, attention has been shifted to who will join the ticket of the two main parties, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Potential names have filled the political space as lobbying intensifies, however, the candidates, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar (PDP) and former Lagos Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (APC) have kept their cards close to their chest.

This was once again re-echoed by Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate who says he reserves the right not to speak about his candidate for Vice President at this time.

Speaking to a pressman at the State House following a visit to President Buhari and a surprising one to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, he said "I won’t tell you that adding that "the name is in his pocket book."

The former Lagos governor said he is "brilliant and he is experienced - from the private sector to public sector and ready to hit the ground running the same day," when asked about his ability to manage Nigeria and why Nigerians should give him the mandate.

He further added that he won't tarnish the legacy left behind for him by President Buhari while urging members of the party to be ready for the battle ahead.

"I don't want to mess up the legacy of progress and honesty that is left behind for me or handed over to me by President Buhari. All APC family members should celebrate in a limited manner. We just begin the hard work."

"The work ahead to win the victory for our party is a hard one and we will win."

Meanwhile, Tinubu says his relationship with Yemi Osinbajo is like that of a "blood brother" after a visit to the Vice Presiden at the state house, Abuja on Thursday night, June 9.

The visit comes days after both men contested the presidential primaries of the ruling party, an election the former Lagos governor won by a landslide.

Against the thoughts of many who believed Osinbajo's decision would create a rift between him and his benefactor, Tinubu surprised many when after he visited President Buhari at the statehouse, stopped by to see Osinbajo.
