What Mourinho told Osimhen after Roma's defeat to Napoli

Roma manager, Jose Mourinho has revealed what he told in-form Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen after his side lost to the league leaders.

Osimhen's well-taken goal ensured Napoli consolidated their lead at the summit of the Serie A table with a 2-1 victory.

Speaking after the game, Mourinho, a former Chelsea and Manchester United coach hailed the influence of the 24-year-old on the Naples club but warned him against diving.

“I told him that he scored a wonderful goal and needs to stop diving so much. His goal was fantastic, he did the same thing when we met earlier this season, so he’s a fantastic player. But he mustn’t dive,” Mourinho said according to Football Italia.

Roma lost to Napoli at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday, January 29.

The victory takes Napoli to 53 points on the league log, 13 points more than second-placed Inter Milan at 40 points.

Osimhen's goal extended his lead in the Capocannoniere charts to 14 Serie A goals of the season.
