Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has revealed his encounter with the late former President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2022 campaign period.

According to Obi, he met with Buhari during the period and was advised by the then-President to ensure that he cared for the poor if he won the 2023 election.

Obi said this while addressing newsmen during a condolence visit to Buhari's family after the former President was laid to rest at his Daura residence in Kaduna.

He said, "I recall vividly meeting with President Buhari in 2022 during my campaign. He said to me: “Peter, you seem to be everywhere and loved by the people. And I wish you the best, please, if you win, do not forget the poor.”

Reacting on X, @koigbest said, "Stupid dead goat. You wished Peter Obi well, but right under your watch INEC compromised his votes. The fraud called Buhari."
