Wearing bikini shouldn't stop me from having an opinion - Tacha

Tacha Tacha

Former BBNaija reality TV star Tacha has said that wearing a bikini shouldn't deprive her of having an opinion.

This was after a social media user slammed her for berating youths of her generation for allowing themselves to be distracted by frivolities.

In a post on social media, Tacha lamented that youths prefer to engage themselves in tweets and other social media activities, unlike their predecessors who were more involved in national politics.

She said, "Listen, my generation of Nigerians is the dust and most cowardly.. funny how we blame the ones before us for ruining Nigeria, but at least they had the guts to fight, ex president Buhari in his 20s was part of a coup fighting for what he believed in.. buh what's Today's 20-year-olds up to? Japa. Believe me when I say, we've not just failed the next generation; we've buried it.
Young Nigerians back then were bold enough to insert themselves into national power. Today? We insert ourselves into visa queues, banger tweets and vibes. Y'all ask, 'What have you done?'

"I've used my voice. I speak, I show up, I don't stay silent. This tweet was never about me. It's about a whole generation that's too scared to sacrifice comfort for country."

Reacting, an X user, @itykay, urged the former reality star to choose between pursuing a career as a bikini model or activism.

@itykay wrote in pidgin English, "You sef no de serious, one moment na bikini pictures and the next one, you wan be activist. You de confuse me."

In response, Tacha said, "So because I wear bikini, I no fit have sense again? Women can be hot and have opinions. Sorry, your mindset is still in 1822."
