We won’t allow Fayose to hijack Ekiti PDP, factional chairman insists

Also, Odebunmi alleged that Secondus colluded with Fayose to go against internal democracy

Meanwhile, Eddy Olafeso aid Fayose should be praised for saving the party from disintegration

Kehinde Odebunmi, factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state, has declared that he will not allow former governor Ayodele Fayose to hijack the party.

The factional chairman disclosed this while featuring on a local programme, The Conversation, aired on New Cruse 92.7 FM, Ikere-Ekiti.

He said other leaders also mattered in the administration of the party.

Going further, he accused the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP of colluding with Fayose to disallow internal democracy and freedom of choice of leaders.

Going further, he said everything legally and constitutionally possible would be done to prevent Fayose from hijacking the PDP.

Meanwhile, Eddy Olafeso, former National vice chairman, PDP in southwest, has backed the former Ekiti governor.

He said Fayose should be respected for saving the party from collapse when the ruling party allegedly plotted internal crisis to destroy it.

“Fayose remains the voice of the PDP in the southwest.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the aspirations of the former national chairman (southwest) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eddy Olafeso, got a major boost on Thursday, September 10, when he and his team were endorsed by the Lagos chapter of the party ahead of the regional congress.

Legit.ng reports that Olafeso, the immediate past regional secretary, Bunmi Jenyo, and other members of the exco were in Lagos to solicit delegate votes for the forthcoming congress.

The former governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose, who was scheduled to be at the meeting was unavoidably absent but dignitaries from across the region who were in attendance, included Dr. Bimbo Ogunkelu, Sunday Adekunle, secretary of the Ogun state chapter of the party, and other chieftains from Osun, Ogun and Ekiti states.

Legit.ng had also reported that Fayose warned the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde against tampering with the leadership structure in Ekiti.

It was reported that Fayose said he was ready to fight anyone who wanted to take over the structure of the party in the state from him.
