We will not allow killing of Christians in Nigeria - Trump says in new interview

Donald Trump Donald Trump

U.S President Donald Trump has said he is not going to allow the killing of Christians to happen in Nigeria again.

In a new interview, he lamented that Christians are being killed in record numbers.

"They're killing record numbers of Christians in Nigeria ... They're killing the Christians, and killing them in very large numbers. We're not going to allow that to happen," Trump said.

This comes days after he threatened that America would storm Nigeria "Guns-a-Blazing" if the country fails to stop the killing of Christians.

Asked by reporters aboard Air Force One if he was considering US troops on the ground in Nigeria or air strikes, Trump replied: “Could be, I mean, a lot of things — I envisage a lot of things.”

Meanwhile, Presidential aide, Temitope Ajayi, has dismissed a report (Not by MyNigeria) that President Bola Tinubu will be jetting out to the United States to meet with U.S Vice President J.D Vance.

In a post on X on Monday, Ajayi, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, described the report as fake news.

He said even if Tinubu goes to the White House, it won't be to meet with a Vice President.

Ajayi wrote, "There is a Sahara Reporters story that President Tinubu is going to the US on Tuesday to see US Vice President J.D Vance. That story is not true. I can see that the fake news by Sahara has become the basis for some uninformed commentaries since yesterday. If President Tinubu is going to the White House, he won't be going to see a Vice President."
