Nigeria’s football legend Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha has claimed that the Super Eagles have lost their fear factor.

The former Super Eagles captain disclosed this while speaking ahead of Nigeria's crucial World Cup playoffs this week.

According to Okocha, nations are no longer scared of facing Nigeria, especially at home; rather, countries are now motivated to play against the Super Eagles.

Speaking in a chat with Femi Soneye on The Exchange, Okocha said that Nigeria's home ground is no longer a fortress.

“In our home, back then, there were no questions; no matter who you were, it was a matter of how many,” Okocha said.

“So, we made our home our fortress, but now it’s like we’re weaker at home.

“We’ve lost that fear factor. Nations used to be scared to play against Nigeria. Now, people want to play against us.”

Nigeria will face Gabon on Thursday, November 13, in the semifinal of the playoffs.

The winner will face either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final on Sunday, November 16.
