The Lagos State Government has said it has about 10,000 religious organisations in its database.

It added that such would ensure effective resource allocation and policy management of worship places.

The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, said these on Sunday during the ministerial press briefing marking the second year in office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Alausa, Ikeja.

Elegushi noted that the database would enable the government to extend many benefits to the organisations, as well as inform them of emerging policies.

He said, “The ministry is presently in the process of imputing data of every place of worship located in the state on a centralised database to allow the state government have a reliable data of churches, mosques and their locations, with a view to carrying them along with state government’s policies.

“A website has been designed to this effect which now has 10,000 data of both Muslim and Christian religious organisations across the state.”
