We need to know the mental status of our leaders - Popular lawyer advises

Popular lawyer, Kayode Ajulo, OON, SAN wants leaders seeking political office must subject themselves to health checks and results made public.

Ajulo, a principal partner made this known in an interview on Arise TV on Monday, December 3.

He commented on the back of the challenges affecting the health of Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

"I think we need to do that. Periodically, we need to know. As I am voting for you, I need to know the one that will be doing what I am voting for. But unfortunately today, we might not know what it is. There was a time in 2012 when I wrote to the White House to know the health status of at the time Barack Obama," he said.

"Within 12 hours, I got a mail showing the whole health report. And that was when I know Barack Obama smokes and I saw the amount of nicotine in his blood."

"So I agree with you, we need to do that. Not only that, we also need to know the mental status of our leaders. I think we need to know how they do and what do they that makes them make certain decisions and behave and act irrationally makes them do things that ordinary people wouldn't do."
