Rufai Oseni, Arise Television co-anchor of the Morning Show, has said that Peter Obi asking President Tinubu to re-introduce himself is not a distraction.

Speaking during the show’s analysis segment, Oseni was of the view that several Nigerians are suffering today because of the process that brought our leaders is a suspect.

He noted that because there is no accountability, leaderships do not think about the suffering of the people, neither can they provide solutions to the problems.

“We know people are suffering in Nigeria, we know there are a lot of pain. This matter on ground is not a distraction because this is where the leadership even comes from in the first place.

"You’ve wondered why people suffer constantly is because the process that brings about our leadership is a suspect. There is no level of accountability. So, you will now get leaders that don’t think about the suffering of the people, or can’t provide solutions to the problems.

"How do you want to have it? When you have a level of leadership like this in the first place. And check across board, it’s not only the presidential level, even governorship level. This is the same country where a governor was asked about the school he went to and he said the case is in court. So, it is time for us to look deeply.

"I don’t think we’ve done enough as a country. Is this a country we truly want for ourselves? Can we be proud to bequeath this for the generation yet unborn or we want a country of technicalities as long as I will get my way?” Oseni said.

Recall that Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party held a press conference during the week and called on President Bola Tinubu to re-introduce himself to Nigerians and the world.

He asked that his real name, parentage, schools he attended among others should be provided to clear all doubts.

Obi’s comment comes following the court case in Chicago, United States, between Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate and Bola Tinubu.

Atiku accused President Bola Tinubu of submitting a forged degree certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the exercise.
